Process & frequently asked questions
Good design begins
with understanding.
A clear process makes room for creativity. We agree the scope early, build the design together, and explain what happens at each stage.
01
Discover
We begin with your ambitions, the site, the people who will use the space, and the practical parameters.
You bring: ideas, plans if available, priorities, and an initial budget range.
02
Define
We turn the brief into a coherent direction: spatial ideas, reference materials, and the key decisions that shape the project.
You review: a concept presentation and a clear set of next decisions.
03
Develop
We refine the agreed direction, coordinating materials, details, and specialist input within the appointed scope.
You review: design updates, selections, and any changes to scope or cost assumptions.
04
Realise
We support the transition from design to delivery through the services agreed in your appointment.
You receive: the agreed documentation, handover information, and next steps.
Before you enquire
A few useful answers.
When should we get in touch?
As early as possible. A conversation before major commitments can help clarify the brief, identify constraints, and establish which services will be most useful.
Do you offer interiors only?
Yes. A project can focus on interiors, architecture, or a defined consultation. The appointment sets out exactly what is included.
How are fees calculated?
Fees depend on scope, complexity, programme, and the level of involvement required. We prepare a written proposal after the initial discussion rather than quoting a universal rate.
Can you work outside your local area?
Location and delivery requirements are considered at the outset. Where local statutory expertise is needed, responsibilities and any consultant appointments must be agreed before work begins.
Can you work with our contractor?
We can discuss collaboration with an existing project team. Coordination and site involvement depend on the services included in the appointment.
What should we include in an enquiry?
Tell us where the project is, what you hope to achieve, the type of help you need, and your preferred timing. Existing plans and photographs can be discussed after the first contact.
A place to begin
Tell us what
you have in mind.
A new home, a considered renovation, or a place that brings people together. Every project starts with a conversation.
